Twenty One, and I Don't Mean Blackjack

I've put my birthday back on Facebook, so in case you didn't know my b-day by heart (and I don't blame you if you didn't), I'm 21 now. And yes, I did go out and have a drink about half-an-hour after midnight (so technically, I missed having a drink on my birthday by a little bit). It was a Miller Lite, and it was... well, bitter. It was very different than I was expecting, by which I mean "ick."

Still, I now completely understand the appeal of alcohol: for about an hour, I was swaying a bit, my limbs were numb, and I was laughing a lot. So yeah, I had a good time without going overboard, exactly what I wanted.

Thanks to my roommates for going out with me and showing me the ropes. Also, thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday without me having to specifically remind them, including Hannah, Karl, Will, and everyone at improv. And those who wished me a happy birthday after I prompted them are cool too but not as cool as the others. :-P

I have a lot of work to do tomorrow night, and it's way past my bed time now, so that'll be it for the moment. My "Pacing Break" (i.e. my school's fall break) starts this weekend, so if any of you will happen to be in Salisbury then, let me know. I should also have more reflections on the whole 21 thing during that. Good night!

Heyyy! No fair taking your b-day off of facebook! Now that you're 21, Jay, you'll understand how hard it is to remember birthdays and whatnot. Now begins the downward spiral!

Anyway, congrats, happy birthday, and so forth. Now that we've gotten a sense of what sort of drunk you might, I think Sam owes me a coke! Did I say Sam? I meant Half-n-Half.

(Oh, by the way - Miller Lite is awurful!)

Beer?! Your first drink as a 21-year old was beer?! You need a chick drink. They are awesome, and taste much better and less alcohol-y.

But YAAAAY!! JAY'S 21 AND I COMPLETELY FORGOT CAUSE FACEBOOK DIDN'T TELL ME!!!!!! In any case, happy belated birthday, and I'm excited for you. :)

JAY!!!! I DIDN'T FORGET YOUR BIRTHDAY...ahem, enough caps, I didn't forget your birthday. But somehow on my calendar, it's listed as October 21st...I was lied to somewhere along the way! I swear, my calendar is taped next to the wall which is presently to the right of my left ear, and I've been anxiously waiting for the 21st to arrive so I could be one of those people that remembered without being told. Alas, I suck, because I even screwed that up.

It sounds like you had a good time on your birthday and that everything seems to be rolling along at the proper pace for you, senior man.

"Keep in contact with old friends...enjoy a drink now and then" hehehe...OH and I agree with both you and Neil, that stuff's disgusting.

Did I mention I meant to say: Happy Belated Birthday Jay!
