As you can see, I figured out how to post photos directly into my blog. Hooray!
The lightsaber is on, but the picture is too bright to be able to tell that. Still, I really enjoy the creepy look on my face. Yesterday was the annual (or semi-annual?) town hall meeting of IR majors, where we get to complain about what's wrong with the department, what we like about it, etc. Unbeknownst to the department head, we were told to come in costume, if possible, and I did. But, of course, only 1 or 2 other people out of the 25+ people there did the same. I'll gladly wear a Jedi costume for any reason, and the look on the department head's face when he noticed me was priceless, so it didn't bother me too much that almost no one else got into the spirit of the day. I did get asked to stand in front of everyone and show myself off, which was slightly embarrassing (I'm not comfortable with having everyone in a room stare at me; that's what I get for dressing as a Jedi) but cool to be recognized.
Luckily, I'll get another chance to don my robe and saber this weekend at a belated Halloween party. However, my costume doesn't hold a candle to what one of my roommates had prepared, but I'll leave that a secret until after this weekend, when he officially reveals it to everyone. Trust me, it'll be worth the wait; I'll try to get a video of it in action for the full effect.
