Obligatory Post-Super Tuesday Post

Well, I have neither a celebratory nor a despondent post because it's still unclear which candidate is going to get the nomination for the Democrats. I am happy that John McCain beat Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee on the Republican side, and I'm also happy that Barack Obama wasn't blown out of the water by Hillary Clinton. But Obama's got some catching up to do if he wants to win the nomination, although the race is close enough that it may come down to the so-called "super delegates", meaning he may have to simply win over more of them to get the nomination. Too bad that the democratic process might have to come down to such a decidedly undemocratic mechanism, but such is politics.

What is great about this news is, states like Maryland and Pennsylvania may actually matter. So I urge all of you to vote when the time comes, even if you don't vote for Obama, although he's clearly my candidate of choice, in case my recommendation is important to you. Just, whatever you do, don't vote for Clinton because you think she's the only one who has a chance against the Republicans. That's just not true. If anything, Clinton will motivate the Republicans to get their act together and get everybody out to stop her. But if you're looking for a true chance for change and a viable candidate against the Republicans, go with Obama. Please?

I promise to talk about something non-political next time, so if you're apathetic to politics, check back next time.
