I don’t have much of a post for you guys. Instead, I simply want to explain myself, help you understand why my blog is in such a state of neglect.
This shouldn’t surprise anyone who knows me well, but I’ve been busy, primarily with work and social events. After my 8-5 job, I’m generally exhausted; I’m finally working in an area that utilizes me, and I feel it at the end of the workday. However, I’ve been forcing myself to hang out with friends after work, even though I don’t really feel like doing that. Once I do, I’m normally glad that I did; my friends energize me and lift me out of any arbitrary funk I may be in.
Still, there is a price exacted for all this activity: I was far behind on my shows (The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and Ergo Proxy) and computer games (HoMM V and Oblivion), and I haven’t been getting much sleep (generally about 6 hours, which is barely enough to keep me functioning). This weekend, I’ve been trying to catch up on both, and I’ve succeeded in doing that with TV and, to a lesser extent, with sleep (forgetting to turn off my alarm and waking up at 6 am this morning didn't help).
While some might believe it a waste of time to spend hours watching old TV shows, I am compelled to do so with The Daily Show and The Colbert Show. If I’ve missed some important political development, they alert me to it and, in the process, entertain me. As for Ergo Proxy, I simply like it, and I was only a couple of episodes behind on that, translating to under an hour of TV watching (more accurately, LCD watching, as the episodes are on my computer).
Next weekend, a new month begins, and I hope to use the opportunity to revitalize my blog. I’ll also be beginning my planning for the Gaming Club’s machinations for next school year and switching areas at work, so July will be a time of change and increased action on my part. We’ll see if I can juggle my various activities better then than I’m doing now (heh - “then than”, but it makes sense). Although I’ve provided numerous excuses, I take full responsibility for the current shape of my blog and apologize again for it. To my readers, I appreciate your loyalty and hope to reward it in kind soon with more meaningful posts.
Footnote – I’m borrowing some CDs from a coworker, and one is the self-titled album by Deltron 3030. As a rule, I dislike rap, but the Gorillaz are a prominent exception, and Deltron 3030 features some of the same artists. I’ve been listening to them while writing this post, and I’d recommend checking out Deltron 3030 if you like the Gorillaz. I haven’t finished the album yet, but I’m enjoying what I’m hearing right now. There, I guess that’s a somewhat useful tip to some of you, right? So this post wasn’t a complete waste. :-P

Your posts are never a waste. And in fact, if you like the Gorillaz, it would behoove you to know that the lead singer (2-D) is in fact the lead singer from Blur. And the rapper from "Clint Eastwood" is none other than Del the Funky Homosapien.
